The hollow handle with sand inside helps achieve that perfect balance. In addition, the blades use molybdenum/vanadium stainless steel. In fact the degree of hardness on this knife is a Rockwell 56-58. Of course, this means it can hold a taper-ground, razor sharp edge. Moreover, Global uses CROMOVA 18 steel in these knives. Making the steel hard enough means the knives will retain their sharpness. The high chromium content make the knives resistance to rust and staining.
